I can definitly relate to your question. When I was pregnant, I had so many questions to ask, and really didn't know where to go. I signed up to babyzone.com and they have a chat room for other moms and it was great just talking to other moms and hearing their stories, and asking questions. I started to feel the baby when I was around 4 1/2 months, it was more like butterflys inside, when I was 5 months I felt the first kick from the outside, but it was a shy baby, and daddy to be didn't get to feel it for a while, whenever anyone put their hand there the baby stopped kicking. Being overweight, watch what you eat, take walks, get exercise so you don't have problems with gestational diabetes, if you do have gestationial diabetes, which they don't test for a while yet, don't feel bad. I had it, and my baby was healthy. Overweight women are more frequent to get it then others. Just be patient though, you will feel a kick/movement soon and it will be an joyous time for you.

I cried when I heard my sons heartbeat too. I started feeling little rumblings in my tummy at about 18 or 19 weeks, but the drs told me people ususally dont feel anything till around 20 or 21 weeks. The baby will start growing faster now but its the lasst month when they really grow a lot, you can expect them to gain a lb a week in some cases in the last month, but that doesnt always happen. Its going to get harder to sleep, you are probably feeling warmer than you would usually, and emotions maybe a little on the fritz but thats normal. The last month is the hardest as you being to feel really heavy in the tummy and some of the kicks can be a little intense at times. One thing I was really worried about was labor but believe me, it isnt as bad as you may think, YES it does hurt but once its over you have your baby, and I suggest the epideral it helps tons, after they gave me mine I actually fell asleep and when I woke up I was dilated to 9 and within the half hour was starting to push. Everyones ecperience is different, but this is what I know. Good luck! =)

You should go to babycenter.com and sign up for the weekly emails. They will tell you exactly what is going on with the baby and you as well. You're baby right now is a little gymnast although you probably wont feel it for a few more weeks. I was/am overweight and 5 months and still haven't felt movement. I think it may take longer to feel the baby when you are overweight but the average is between 18 and 20 weeks. Congrats and have fun!

hi & congrats!
please remember every woman, pregnancy & baby are different--but I can tell you what I went (am going) through.
I had all day/every day morning sickness for the first 5 months-it went away in month 6-then came back. (blech, lol)
all babies grow differently! dont judge your baby by someone elses--your doctor is the only one that can tell you if your baby isnt growing correctly.
I had my first u/s at 12 weeks, at 16 weeks I stepped on the darn cat and slid down the steps-felt just fine but went to the er anyway, and they found a hemmorage at that u/s.
(so-if you fall or get hurt-even if you feel fine--be sure to get checked out!!)
at 19 weeks I had my 'big' u/s to determine gender.
I havent had a u/s since, lol
Im 38 weeks 3 days, but my baby is due any day now-the doc says I wont make it to next weeks appt. (woo hoo, lol)
oh-I started feeling awful tired and stuff at the beginning of my 3rd trimester, I figured that is just what happens then.
but I found out I was anemic when I had to take my one hour glucose test--even though I passed the anemia test at the beginning.
that's about it--mine pretty much has gone by the books I've read.
good luck with your pregnancy!! enjoy it-it does go SOOO fast!
oh-edit to add.
I felt baby at 16 weeks, even though she is due any day-I feel her moving now more than ever
my boobs started leaking the clear fluid at 22 weeks, the colostrum started coming in around 32-34 weeks
for 2 weeks I have been dialated and 50% thinned--today Im 3-4 cm dialated and 60% thinned.
I've been having mostly the braxton hicks contractions-I havent had any 'real' ones for 2 weeks now.

Congratulations! I usually cry when I get an ultrasound and hear the heartbeat. It's just so overwhelming and amazing. I felt the baby move at about 17 weeks. I thought it was gas until I felt it again. Now, at 21 weeks I feel the baby more often, usually when I first lay down. It's like he's trying to get comfortable too. Well, I wish you the best!

Every pregnancy is different. I had little flutters from the 17wk mark and often wondered if that was the baby kicking, then when I was 20 and a half wks pregnant I got three big whollops. You may find that you cry lots more and at the drop of a hat your moods can change. Congratulations you will be a great MUM!!!

Try reading the book, "What to Expect When You're Expecting". It has a lot of info in it. It will give you info from what you will experience, to what you need to know. It's a great book and you can browse it on the net, maybe at amazon.com.
