Alright, my team is about to play this team that is 8-1, that team has a whole team, our team has only 2 players me and my friend mike. We haven't played that many games because they're being rescheduled. We're 2-1.

I willing to do everything. Rebound, score, pass, anything.

My team doesn't have that much confidence that we can beat some really good teams.

I know we can beat teams like that.

CAN YOU GIVE ME SOME ADVICE

I don't know what sport you're referring to, but for now I'm going to assume that you have enough players on your team to play - if not then that's a whole other thing.

Sounds like you two are lacking some confidence. You've won 2 games out of the 3 you've played - so obviously you and Mike know how to win. Don't worry that the other team has a record of 8-1; that could be your team if you had played 9 games.

What to do? Practice! Even if you're not practicing against another opponent you can still work on your fundamentals. Practice! Get the moves down until they feel natural and automatic. Practice! You'll gain confidence and will learn how to use each other's strengths to overcome any weakness. Practice! Your abilities to work as a team and control the field will improve greatly!

Next, motivate yourselves before every game. Motivate yourselves to do better than you did in the last match. Motivate yourselves to remember and use the skills you've been honing.

Lastly, don't fret about defeat. Losing can be a good thing; it will show you what you need to work on, and the other team will have inadvertantly taught you some valuable moves and tactics that you can use to your advantage in the future.

Now get back to work! :)

Just remind them that the most dangerous adversary to a champion is a team that is not as fast, strong, skilled or athletic but beleives they can beat you. If they don't have faith in their physical abilities, they need to have faith that the game plan will be effective and have faith in their ability to execute the game plan. Think about it, the Pistons beat a stacked Lakers squad a couple years back. They did not have comparable talent, athleticism or offensive firepower. Another example would be the Heat beating the Mavs. Realistically, the Heat should have had to score 130+ points a game to win which is something they cannot do for 4-5-6-7 straight games. But they won. Both had great game plans. Your team can do the same. What your team lacks in athleticism and skill may be able to be supplemented by a solid strategy. Good luck.
