i am currently 12 weeks with bub #2. my son is only 19 wks old. as my body did not have time to heal properly my cervix is blocked but open at the top. the docs are talking about a possible stitch in the top. has anyone had a slightly open cervix in early pregnancy before? is this common in close pregnancies? should i be concerned if the mucous plug attached, there have been no danger signs and i have got thus far? any one had a stitch? any honest answers would be greatly appreciated

thst is a very weird situation. im sure there is nothing to worry about. if the doctors think its a good idea, well then they are right. they wouldnt put a persons life at risk. congrats

Well I got pregnant with my 3rd when my 2nd was 18-19 wks old. I never had a stitch done but I did get pregnant with twins. I lost one of them. I have heard of having women getting a stitch for reasons like that and many more. It's not uncommon. I think it's more or less a precaution. I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you. I think that the docs did that because you did get pregnant so soon afterwards. My mom got pregnant with her second when her first was only 4 wks old but I'm not sure if she had the stitch put in. Of course this was awhile ago too! Good luck!

My friend had that done because her cervix would open too soon and she had 2 miscarriages for that reason but then the Dr close it with a stitch and she was totally fine and was able to carry the pregnancy to the end.

The procedure is called a circlage. My friend had one done because her cervix started to open too early. It's become a relatively common procedure and I'm sure you and the baby will be fine. They will take the stitch out when you get close to your due date.

I really have no idea.. how tough it must be to pregnant right away! Was it planned? (Just wondering) I would trust what the doctors say... Maybe schedule an appointment to talk with OB. Good Luck and congrats!

please take my suggestion. spend most of your time reading religious stuff and reading Godly books and think good and try to get less and less depression and angry. that way, most of your time will be spent doing good karma and you will have a child who will be a good person. that way, God will make all your problems go away.
