I've spent the last month applying to many Ph.D and Psy.D programs (directly after undergrad). Do such programs let you know if they are not interested in you? I'm worried that it is a matter of either you get an interview or you never hear from the school.

They do, indeed, let you know if they reject you.

It is still early. When I applied to PhD programs, I heard from the ones that accepted me in mid-February and heard from the ones that rejected me in mid-March.

It isn't like undergraduates where they have people whose full time job is accept you. Instead, there is a committee of faculty members who go through the applications and decide. They often have trouble scheduling the time to do it.

Yeah, I am pretty sure they would let you know... something like, "After reviewing your application material, we unfortunately cannot admit you at this time"

I'm also applying to psych. programs (masters though- PHD too hard for me to get into given my GPA and unwillingness to take the GRE LOL) ... I should call their admissions staff and ask them if they do send out rejection letters!!!
