I am going to major in Biology and was wandering whether I am going to have to do powerpoints or is the professor going to do all the work. Since I am going in the pre-med field, Would chemistry, physics, and biology classes make students do presentations? Why is that in High school they say do powerpoints to prepare you for college? There must be a reason for that.

Umm...no. I've never heard that powerpoints prepare you for college. Unless you take a computer class or something. I'm taking biology right now. The prof lectures, you listen. There are labs and exams. That's it.

I am a senior pre-med going to medical school in the fall. I am a biology major and chem minor. I have had to do maybe 3 total. If you do research, you will have to do presentations to present your research. This semester, my capstone class and another class will require about 7 powerpoint presentations total. Different schools are different, but high school teachers must make you familiar with all of these technologies so that you can major in anything in college. You must be able to use powerpoint in college.

Occasionally, but usually as a group project.

For instance, we had to do a presentation on the causative agent of lyme disease using a Powerpoint. It's really, really simple to use if you have the Powerpoint program.

In terms of preparing you for college.. most of my professors use Powerpoint for their lectures, so that's probably what they meant.

Not in any science classes I've taken. Ask your professor though, everyone does things differently.
