Ok first off, Im going to the doctor tomorow. Well, at least i hope. I'm calling to try and get in tomorow though. I just want to know if this is ok. I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight. I noticed some darker mucus coming out earlier today. Not too dark, but dark enough to notice. Then like 30 minutes ago I felt something and went to the bathroom and it was bright red blood. No clotting yet. Just bright red blood. I know it could be a miscarriage and Im hoping its not, but I just want some answers. Has this happened to anyone and they had a positive outcome? Or is it more than likely a miscarriage? Im trying to prepare myself for the worst. I'm only 5 weeks and 1 day along!! Please help me. I'm desperate right now.

I was bleeding alot (bright red) during 4-5 weeks of my pregnancy. It was heavy as period and had blood clots. It stoped after 4-5 days and I'm still pregnant. I think you are fine =) but you should double check with your doctor.

First of all, no, it is not out of your hands if it's a miscarriage, there are procedures, drugs, etc. to at least try to help stop miscarriages. I've had 2 m/c, 1st one, didn't even know I was preggo until afterwards (I barely bled, no pain, just a huge blood clot afterwards and a dr. conifrmed it) 2nd one, I bled as if I was cut open, in so much pain,, but before the heavy bleeding and pain began, it was just spotting, then a light flow, and I knew something was wrong and wish I would have made it to the hospital in time.

Anyway, when I was pregnant with my son, my doctor told me that when it comes to your baby's health, it's ok to jump to conclusions and get to the E.R.....You are not a Doctor, right, so u don't know if it's just some weird bleeding, a miscarriage or what. I suggest getting to the E.R., Just In Case. When it came to my sons health, better safe than sorry.

I think you need to calm down sit down and put your feet up. Just remember if this is a miscarriage there is nothing you can do and it's out of your hands. This happens when the fetus isn't right. It does sound like you're starting to miscarry, the bright red blood is not a good sign. What could start happening next is you start cramping. You call your doctor and tell them what is happening so you can go tomorrow and get checked. If tonight you start bleeding heavily you need to go to the ER. The best thing to do is just stay put and lay down. Good luck to you honey and I've been in your shoes twice, and I did eventually have two healthy boys. I wish you the best of luck, and just stay calm and remember you're doing all you can..

It's hard to say. I would guess that if you're bleeding bright red blood... it might be an early miscarriage. But it very well may not be. I found the following info on a web site (link below) hope it helps.

"About twenty percent of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. There are many causes for miscarriage. The most common are a result of chromosomal abnormalities, uterine anomalies, infection, or placental circulation. Signs of miscarriage are spotting or bleeding and cramping during pregnancy. If you are concerned that you are miscarrying call your doctor right away. Your doctor may perform an ultrasound. Fifty percent of women who have spotting during pregnancy do not miscarry. If during the ultrasound the doctor sees a heartbeat, your chances of miscarriage are even less. If you have an ultrasound between seven and eleven weeks of pregnancy and a heartbeat is seen, your chances of miscarrying are less than ten percent."

If it doesn't appear very heavy and you have no cramps... I think seeing a Dr tomorrow is okay. But if you start either of those symptoms... go to ER. Some women have bleeding at different stages of pregnancy for a variety of different reasons. It is always best to check with a Dr to be on the safe side, but cramping and heavy bleeding should be considered an emergency. I would call the Dr. Then lie down and relax and see how things feel after a bit. Relaxing is the key.

Go to the ER..I`ve had 2 m/c before and that`s what it sounds like to me..I also had a sub chronic bleed with my son at 13 weeks and everything turned out fine...So you really won`t know for sure until you get check out..If you do wait until tomorrow then lay down, relax and try not to worry to much..I hope everything is okay..good luck..

For your own piece of mind I recommend going to the ER. If you elect not to, lay on your left side and drink plenty of water and relax.
