You have to take into account the fact that the main steam media hates Bush with a passion. They will stop at nothing to defame him and make America look weak in the eyes of the enemy. They want America to appear to be unable to come together to defeat the real threat which is Iran. They want America to look weak to the world community so that when the demorats go for the presidency in '08, they can stand and crow that the war was a horrible mistake and its all Bush's fault. They want you to forget that Saddam went against the precious United Nations and refused to abide by the dictates of the Security Council following the first Gulf War. As I recall there were 17 resolutions calling for inspections of his countries factories and weapons stores.
Now here is the kicker. Sending more troops will not end this war faster. It will however cause the death of more of the islamo-facists. Which is a good thing to me. If they are unleashed to go in and kill first and ask questions later without the political bull crap they have now, we will see a victory. The troops have to be allowed to go in and do the job they are trained to do. That job is to go in and kill people and break things. They must be allowed to find Sadr and just ventilate his skull. He is allied with Iran and taked orders from them. The border with Iran and Syria must be secured. A majority of the bad guys are not Iraqies. They are from Syria and Iran. Some Iranian Revolutionary Guards have been captured and killed by our forces.....hmmm have you ever heard anything about that in the media? Nope.
Marsha brings up a very good point too. Both parties voted to go into Iraq. The problem now is the demorats want a kinder gentler war. That makes me laugh....

I understand what you're saying. However, I think people are against Bush right now because so many troops are killed everyday. The toll keeps adding up & it seems like we're getting nowhere. He's the leader of our country & we look to him to find a remedy for this. Whether we agree with his tactics or not, I'd hate to be in his shoes having to make the decisions he's faced with. I'm not defending Bush no more than I am against him. Just trying to rationalize~

You might want to consider reading a newspaper.
As to whether or not more troops will end the conflict quicker the only way to be certain of that is to wait and see.

Sad thing is with Americans is that when the president is doing "good" not enough room on the bandwagon but when not doing "good - what please the seeming majority" then haterade is abounding!
Shame on us as citizens!
Regardless of which political party the presidental party comes from, he is only human and only can accomplish what those who truly make the decisions deem workable - he is just the fall guy.
That is why it is so bogus when H Clinton, T Kennedy and others from BOTH parties attack President Bush saying he has made bad decisions, when the real decisions came from the votes of BOTH parties - he just had the final yeah or nay.
They are not even willing to accept responsibility for their own choices, instead when hear the people cry out in disagreement - act as if he is the only one involved.
ALL politicians have their own agenda. We are the ones who allow ourselves to be the puppets!

Well you are talking about 70% of Americans. I think Bush will move into Baghdad and secure the town and just before the election pull most the troops out and claim victory but the violence will return and be covered up on the news by the up coming election.

The problem is that nothing will END the war. We are fighting an invisible enemy. And for every one of our enemies which we kill, tens more return to take their place. We should never have been in this war in the first place and sending in more troops for months or years isn't going to change or back-track the indescribable damage we have committed.

Because in the U.S. the "extremists" seem to define the party. It seems to me that radio talk show hosts and the 24 hour news channels like to pick out the small percentage of extremists and make them mainstream media and paint the entire party with that image. So conservatives think all liberals have the same views as Cyndi Sheehan and vice versa. I personally think this is very damaging to our country..

I agree with Bush..whether we like or not like Bush..we need more troops in Iraq..
It is not why the war started but why we need more troops to finish this..
We need more troops there. War is not supposed to be pretty but we need to establish peace in the region.
