I am 45 and i had very frequent UTI's and I was even going to the er and some were very severe...then my doctor put me on a antibiotic of 100mg (macrobid) each time I had intercourse, right after ..and that stopped my problem..now very rarely do I get them, I shave most of my pubic hair and I also like anal sex, these two factors can be a cause of infections...when you have anal and then go back to vaginal intercourse it can leave bacteria no matter how clean you are...I was at my wits end having these infections all the time and they are painful I know>>>> My mom who is 78 also gets the UTI's all the time, the doc put her on 50 mg of macrobid daily, so I think you see some women are just more prone to them and you should go see a gynocologist about this...no matter what you drink or what you eat it is the bacteria that causes the UTI...although cranberry juice is suppose to help prevent the UTI, I never liked the sowerness of the cranberry, now they make some tablets to take called EZO, THEY MAKE some pills to help the pain of the UTI also..they are with the feminine products like sprays and powder....I surely feel your pain sister and I hope you can find some help....love ya>>>><<<<

After all the advice you got here I want to say just this, if you
treat you UTI's by taking medication and not neglect it
there is no danger. The danger is only when a UTI is neglected and not treated, than it might travel up to the kidneys.
You did not write how old you are but I suggest that either consult a urologist about taking antibiotics before or after intercourse, or, if you are pre-menopausal than you might need
hormone treatment. I always urge women to go see their gyn. or a urologist at least once, to have a check up and get some medical advice.

The hot flashes are anxiety because of the feeling you have to go to the bathroom. The infection can travel upwards. Drink Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice and take Vitamin C pills to prevent these.

Of course there is danger associated with that. If you get lots of scar tissue in the wrong place then you'll be looking at some very serious problems -- blockages, incontinence, and so forth.

You MUST get your doctor to send you to a urologist to get this addressed.

My father had frequent urological infections, and he almost died four times from sepsis (aka "toxic shock"), and after he had an operation he almost died from kidney failure. This is serious sh*t you're dealing with here...

Yes, it is possible to get the bacteria into your kidney's and cause long term problems. Do you drink enough water? Try drinking more water and also make sure you are wiping from front to back.

Yup! this is serious stuff. It's best if you deal with this now, don't wait too long to see your doctor.
