Iv'e put my Profile online to personals and there's been some interest but, then they give up too easy Are all men so shallow that they really just want one thing?

Great men are hard to find. I had great success with a local professional matchmaker who set me up with my husband, and a dear friend of mine is getting ready to marry the man that eHarmony.com set her up with. So, I think a lot of the battle is in where you look.

Oh, the good ones are out there, but they may not neccessarily be on Yahoo Personals!

It might be a good idea to expand your horizons a bit: I tried to find women on there myself for quite a while with no success. I found that not everybody posts there! There are other dating sites, but try also by just going out and being with other people in person.

The best way to avoid the losers (and I have met a few myself) is to know what you want and don't want in a person (also how you want and don't want to be treated by them) and go from there.

Good luck!

yes it is unfortunate that a majority of us men only look for one thing, but don't ever give up on us (men ). Stick to you're guns, don't settle for anything less than the best and one day you will find what ur looking for!

Women don't realize that they castrated men after the women's liberation movement. So now they are frustrated because all those creatures with penises out there don't know how to be men. They effectively screwed themselves over.

Oh...my dear Susie...You just asked the question of the century. I am a 40 y old forever single woman, never married, no kids, medical professional who is shaking my head at the dating situation. Trust me..I have been out there. I am no longer looking for a man. I got a dog instead. Unconditional love garanteed, no risk she will pack her bags and move, total commitment etc...

There are good men out there but they don't commit for different reasons. I have met good ones who have been burnt and are affraid to commit again. I have met self centered men living in a fantasy world lying with no considerations for the pain they cause to others. I have met good men with non compatible personalities, interest etc...I met good and compatible ones but they had to move away for work and it didn't match my career path etc...Once, the man I love and had a good relationship...got killed in a hit an run accident. I had to get over it and continue living.

I think the main issue is that we live in a society where everything is disposable. A relationship doesn't work, the attitude is lets move on and try something else. People divorce, with very little attempts to work on their problems.

Celebrities and others promote fairy tales lifestyle that is unattainable for 99% of us. People spend their life chasing happiness. Not many people seem to understand that the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence. The same thing with men....why date one woman when you can date 3???

We live in a fast pace world and we are getting away from human contacts with internet, cell phones, blackberries etc etc...It doesn't help. It takes 2 salaries to have a decent living and couples feel the pressure. This bring stress related to career and move to other cities for promotions, better salaries etc..

The moral values of our society have gone down the dumps...loyalty, trust etc...no longer mean anything. Material possesions is what matters in 2007. Plastic surgeries, bigger car, newer and bigger house, big debts , a lot of stress. People get lost in the pursuit of what is perceived as being happiness.

There are more women born compared to men, gay men, married men, non compatible men...all this take away from the available stock of good men.

Don't despair. Instead put your energy into building a good career, acquiring what you need to survive, shelter, food, transportation, good friends etc...Work on building good self esteem and confidence and open yourself to other form of love. In my case, my dog is my best friend and she provides me with affection etc...my friends provide me with other aspect of love, I keep a personaly diary etc...those are all acts of love...and the best, most fulfilling love we can have is the love for ourself. When that is done, there might be someone somewhere, because of destiny that will show up and help add to an already rich and fullfilled life.

Love yourself first. I had to grieve the fact that I am now too old to have kids, and grieve the lack of companionship from a male being. More and more I am opening myself to other form of love and i am convinced that it will be rewarding. At time, iI believe it is the pressure from society to conform to the traditional ideation of what life should be (man + woman living happy forever ever after with many kids) that contribute to make us feel bad. I used to feel inadequate because I used to compare myself to others but not anymore...I am explotring a new way of life where I am a happy fulfilled person. I am becoming a being in harmony with the universe, at piece with myself and my environnment. A positive attitude along with an open mind is the key to success.

To answer your initial question, "whatever happened to all of the good men?":

"All of the good men have joined the U.S. Marine Corp." or so their slogan goes.

Its like asking...where are all the "Good" honest,
caring women.
I believe its all in , where you look, and what your
expectations are; there are "Bars" and then there
is Church......and then (Pun intended) there is the
"Meat Dept" in otherwords..looking where others "might look"..as in the Supermarket
