he comes up in later after sasuke leaves and naruto is older but basically he is introduced in the story to take sasuke's spot on the team he has the abilty to bring life to what he draws like tigers of birds stuff like that but sai and naruto go off to a meeting with on of the atitsuki members(like itachi u no sasuke's bro) looking like on of the members they killed but they are found out by orochmaru the person they were planning to meet and exchange info on their headquaters and sasuke but oro find them out and naruto lets out four tail from his nine tail and goes on a rampge any back to sai , well sai goes off to oro to trick him in getting close to sasuke to kill him that sai's secret mission but because sai showed naruto emotion sai just wanted to rescue saskue but sasuke is just to powerful and basically the whole naruto team got owned by him and sasuke disappears again also sai has a brother that dead but we don't no to much about him yet
