I've had this problem too.I've been through 4 CD burners and 2 DVD burners since 1999. I've I found out that a lot of burners have a short operating life. They simply stop working properly because of dust build-up on the laser lens and even changes in CD-r/rw disc specifications. Cd/DVD burners are cheap to buy now (as low as US$20 on-line or$30 at Wal-Mart. It is not worth the trouble as you will spend more money in wasting good disc while trying to figure out the problem.Trash the burner and buy a new one.

try restoring to the in simple terms proper frequently happening good time you should burn a CD. commence / classes / all classes / upload-ons/ device equipment/ device fix. If this does not artwork your CD laser should be fried. I had a DVD / CD burner and the DVD burner worked yet ought to not study or burn Cd's anymore. offered a swifter DVD / CD burner on-line for $30.00 and replaced into waiting to position in it less than quarter-hour. good success VIC

I had a similar problem. Go to the cdrom manufacturers web site and see if there is a BIOS upgrade for your model cdrom. I had a TDK cd/dvd burner and it suddenly wouldn't burn my new batch of dvd's. Thought I got a bad batch. Went to TDK's web site and found out that there was a bios update that would allow my drive to burn newer manufactured dvd's. IT WORKED.
