Through history or currently? A specific image or one of a specific person/object? At one point it was the portrait of Queen Elizabeth that is printed on all money in all of Britain's commonwealths and colonies. At another point it was Mickey Mouse, then the famous portrait of Chairman Mao. The photograph of Che Guevara that we all recognize is supposedly the world's most reproduced photograph but it's hard to say with iconic images, really... especially when you factor in digital reproduction and images used in merchandising products (clothes, coffee mugs, etc.)
