It's a two yr old computer and everything looks fine. I went away on vacations for a month and now that I am back it does not want to turn on at all. I have tried connecting it to a different wall power supply and it's the same. Monitor and all equipment around is on but computer does not come on. No sound of fans and no beeping neither. The last bad thing I knew about my computer was that the virtual memory was low due the pictures and music I have in it. Could that be the reason? It still had 60% of regular memory, but virtual memory was very low. Any ideas? Should I spend $$$$ fixing it? Or do U have another idea? HELP! I already checked cables, cords and all that and nothing works... What else can I do? No jokes please... I am very frustrated.
Gracias,
@ngie

your powersupply is very possibly dead, but the problem could also lie in your motherboard, processor, or other key components. If you left the computer plugged in while on vacation (even if it was off) if there was a power surge or lightning strike (if there was a storm) it could have fried something. Probably start by checking out the power supply though as that's the more likely source.

Was it plugged into a power strip that is also a surge protector? Was it plugged in while you were out? If so, try plugging the computer directly into the wall and see if you get anything. A spike may have blown out the surge protector, and generally it would have to be replaced.

There is something called SMPS on in your computer (tower) that supplies power to all parts inside (that's the one that has the connector for the power cable). I'd advise you to get a technician to see if it's busted. Looks like that's the issue. If so, it needs to be replaced.
