Lots of possibilities. China is still a communist state and is quite rigid in its laws. I do not think Chinese authorities recognize gay relationships. Culturally I think it is taboo. Chinese men are supposed to take care of the family wealth, provide children and so on. Too many Chinese traditions that involves men. I don't know if arranged marriages are still common in China. I am from the Philippines, an Asian country and I know of gay Chinese men who are in this predicament. Worst if you are the only son.

Uhm...are you asking why gay people cannot marry each other in China? If so, China may be like most of the world who does not recognize gay marriage as a right at this time.

It's up to the people and civil rights activists to make change. This will be the only way to make a difference...possibly in your lifetime.

Why don't you ask this on the Chinese forum? My guess would be their laws. It is a communist country after all.
