i wear hoodies and i put the hood up, i wear sideways hats..and now everyone thinks im emo! and im not...i mean emos and cool and all.....but there treating me like im a freak but i dont wanna give up my style....what should i do?

To me, there's no such thing as "an emo", it's just simply emo. It's a genre of music. (those who call themselves emos are idiots) Don't listen to those poseurs because they don't know what they're talking about. They don't know what it was originally about or the storybehind it. Infact, they probably don't even know that it all started in the 80's.
Just laugh at them and say "Do you even know what emo really is?" and tell them to do some research.

You should wear total black one day, then the next you should wear white, then mix and match, throw a little gangster in there, maybe a little cowgirl.... Just keep them guessing! people like that are obviously quick to judge and post labels on people, so I f you just keep them guessing, other people will look at them with stereotypes. They are just jealous of your style. There is no other reason for their behavior.

Just be YOURSELF. YOu are More than a label, and a few style trends don't warrant you having an identity crisis. Let it be their hang-up by just acting like it doesn't bother you.
