Good starter lizards. These sites all have loads of good info, which you can read through, as well as loads of pics so you can see if there is anything which you like.

All can become very tame and friendly if you spend the time with them. All are relatively forgiving of small mistakes you may make as a beginner but obviously not in the longterm.

I would defiantly not go with a iguana or a chameleon!! Neither of these make good starter pet reptiles. There are several lizards that would work much better for a beginner. Depending on where u live and how much work u want to put into them. If u live in a drier location u might want to consider a lizard that does not require high humidity. Also take into consideration the amount of money u have to spend and space u have. Bearded dragons are wonderful as long as u have the space for a large enclosure. Viper geckos are fairly new to the common pet trade and make great starter lizards that require little space and not a huge investment. Leopards are a great in between size and price. If humidity is not a issue (or u don't mind misting frequently) crested geckos are good starters as well. Do your research before u buy anything, find a knowledgeable pet store and ask a lot of question. Don't buy on your first visit. Make sure u take home a pet u can care for correctly and enjoy having.

I must disagree with Jewel.. Iguanas are very hard to care for. The initial setup cost is well over a couple of hundred dollars. Iguanas require specialized care..including lights, heat and diet to just name a few. The Leo Gecko or bearded dragon is a better choice for a beginner.

Some lizards are easier to care for than others.
I would say to get an Iguana, they are also better with other pets.
My aunt has always owned one.
The only danger is the ridges on their backs and tails, you must be sure they don't get you with it.
However my aunt has only had one mishap [not intentional by her lizard], and has owned them for over 15 years.
They are laid back and TOO COOL!!!

yes they sleep most of the time get a leopard or a fat tailed gecko they are easiest

get a comelion. they are really easy to take care or and eisier to handle as well. thy eat crickets, wich can be fun to have around. all you have to do is get a temperature lite, crickets, vitemon powder to put the crickets in, and clean the tank occasionaly. plus they feel awsome when perched on one's arm.
