You live in a world where only money matters. People forget that there are others suffering and dying everyday because eveyone is focused on what happened a long time ago.
They have alot of money buried and lending, they control much of the media too, so it is easy to focus all eyes on one point of human atrocity and get everyone to turn a blind eye to everything else that is going on as long a it benefits>>> those it benefits.
But look around you, people are dying everyday in Ruanda, palestine, Iraq. but only one group gets the apologies and aid.

This is not the only genocide we hear about. We heard about the genocide that Milosevic was committing in Bosnia. We heard the genocide that Saddam Hussein committed against the Kurds. We also hear about the genocide in Darfur (thanks Clooney).
The holocaust is the most popular because of three important facts:
1. It was committed during the greatest war. WW2 was the most documented war of all time because it involved so many countries.
2. The state of Israel exists because of the holocaust. Due to America's unwillingness to go to war at the beginning stages of WW2, America felt that it must somehow repay the Jews for not acting.
3. The Jewish community is a very influential part of American culture. It may not be talked about and the Jewish community thinks it is taboo to admit, but many Jews run the entertainment industry here in America. They use this to make movies, news specials, and other forms of media to display the holocaust. They also have influence in American politics through wealthy donations to candidates. In fact, many actors, directors, and others in America that have spoken about the Jewish influence have been "black listed."

Mainly because America wasn't involved, or was and doesn't want it to be known. The Holocaust was during one of the Great Wars known to mankind, the others are not know as such yet.
Peace.

u might be right
there have been many other genocides in recent history besides the ones committed by saddam, but if you ask me the reason we chose iraq to delare war on is that it seems more relevant to us because of the whole oil/middle east/terrorrism thing. Africa maybe more of a mess than the middle east, but i dont know because i never hear much about it. The reason i dont hear much of it is because, well, quite frankly the american media seems to think africa is irrelevant.
