The ancient Asian board game of go. The basics are easier to learn than chess, but there are more levels of complexity (no computer program has yet achieved the strength of a strong amateur). Thanks to the simplicity of it's design, it's very easy to handicap so that players of far different strengths can have a challenging game. If one is a beginner or in a hurry, one can play on a smaller board. It has a rich cultural depth and history. And on top of all that, the same boards and pieces can be used to play some other games like go-moku and pente when one is up for a lighter game.

1830, The Game of Railroads and Robber Barons
made by the Avalon Hill company
It takes about 6 hours to play. There are no dice, so the game is pure strategy and no luck!

I love to play Scrabble now, but I have fond memories of both Life and Payday. My dad bought an awful lot of prom dresses in Payday!

Loaded Questions. It's like Balderdash, but you do not guess the definition of things but answer funny questions. Gotta play it!
