Fish is a type of meat. That is common knowledge. Most know that as well as they know that they can drink water when thirsty. If it comes from an animal and is muscle tissue, it is then a meat. By the way, technically the part of fruit that you eat or vegetables that you eat is also called meat. The meat of the apple is an example. That usage is archaic and very uncommon, but it is still correct usage of the word. But the general understanding is that meat refers to animal tissue or muscle.
