Liberalism is now recognized as a mental disorder by many prominent psychiatrists. It is similar to Schizophrenia, characterized by loss of contact with reality and delusions of various sorts.
Also, the minimum wage increases are going to contribute to massive unemployment and skyrocketing inflation.

Where did you get the idea that liberals want to raise taxes? They don't want to raise taxes, they just want to get us out of debt, and make things more equitable for everyone. Why should the people with the most money, continue to pay the very, very least in taxes. Some people seem to think there is something fair about that, but I just don't understand that kind of thinking.
Some people, apparently think we have equal opportunity in this country, but that is light years away from being true, here everywhere else in the world.
It is true that the poverty rate either hasn't change or has increased, but that is because the New World Order wants it that way.
Both sides have to realize that we are in this together, and as long as we can't see what is really going on, and we continue fighting with each other, there is a serious danger of this country becoming a police state.

liberals want more money for the government so we can use the money to improve world problems.
There is a economic philosophy involved as well. For instance, the conservatives believe that we all have equal opportunity. Liberals believe that we don't have equal opportunity. The rich pay more taxes. The poor don't pay as many taxes. Tax money might be used to help the poor or the homeless. Or billions of our tax dollars are used for the war in IRAQ. In fact, if you pay attention, the country is going in debt. So where do we get the money to fund the war? where is it? hmmmmmm.... We get the federal banks to raise interest rates. Notice how interest rates have been going up? They are sucking us dry to pay for the war.
Anyway, there are a lot of reasons for your question. I only know a little about this issue.

To divide over "liberal" and "conservative" is petty. The use of those words when referring to the Democratic and Republican parties is very troll-like.
To be completely sold on EITHER extreme should be considered a "mental disorder" (as one earlier poster commented) (that person REALLY needs the most help).
Both sides childishly go back and forth pointing out what's wrong with the other. Democrats want to raise takes. Ok. So what? I'm sure you could find1 00 other shortcomings of Democrats.
And Democrats could find 100 shortcomings of Republican initiatives.
The two won't see eye to eye on most issues. The self-righteousness on both sides continues to prevent any REAL progress from happening.

To start with they either don't care or don't realize that lower taxes actually brings in more money for government spending, hence raising our taxes means the government will actually have less money to spend. They also think they know how to spend our money better than we do. Let's not forget the less money we make the harder it is to pay bill and the more dependent we become on the government, more government dependency means people will keep electing those that will give them more welfare and social programs (democrats). It is a power thing, democrats believe that they were born to be in power and run this country even though they haven't the foggiest idea of how to do so.

it's not a priority (however, they have indicated a slight lowering for the middle class...that's most of us), but they have indicated a raise for those making $500,000 a year...do you have that much money? If tthey have to, they will because the Republicans have put so much debt on us.
The debt the average American must pay $27,000 in his life time to pay off this debt...got any bright ideas of how to do that Einstien?

Liberals believe in spending money on social programs, welfare, health care, education etc. Also Liberals believe in paying down national debt as well. In order to continue bringing responsible government and economic development, more money is need from taxpayers to sustain it all.

We have spent over 200 trillion since FDR started the war on poverty. Since then, the poverty rate has remained constant and has actually increased. The libs still support this failing war but rip the war in Iraq that has been a drop in the bucket compared to their failed war on poverty. At least we have freed people from a homicidal maniac. The war on poverty has made people lazy and dependent on a check that will never get them out of poverty.
