Yes i think from personal experience, that anything like myspace is dangerous. You always read these thngs in the news saing how anything they write or publish can come back to haunt them. Especially with some of those weird people out ther. You know like the ones that stand out in front of walmart :P just kidding this is no laughing matter. The point is. That anything you say and do online in a public place (like myspace ) is potentially dangerous, and no good can come from it.

It is dangerous if she allows strangers to become her friends, and being 11, she probably would be fooled by some people. I wouldn't recommend anyone under 15 to use it anyway, especially posting pics of herself. Myspace is a dangerous website in the hands of some predators that act decent and normal, but really I think you should tell her parents whats shes doing. If they know about this, they probably will stop her from doing this.

YES! If shes going on with her moms consent ,then u should, let her mom know that its not a secure site. did u hear about the girl that had gotten rapped, by meeting some guy from myspace? It was on the news about 2 days ago. Be very careful, there are sexual preditors out there.

It can be, make sure she doesn't give any detailed information. Phone numbers and the like, photos that she puts on should be approved by an adult. I would be scared if my eleven year old went on it.

The police have caught men acting like they were kids that just wanted to hang out. These men had gone to the girl's home while the parents were gone.

There are predators out there who like to do sick things. I would handle this carefully. One route is tell her parents. Another is to not let the issue drop. Keep telling her it isn't a good idea. One thing to make sure of, is that she never tries to meet anyone from myspace in real life, or give out her personal information like her full name, address, or such.

It's dangerous to go onto ANY social-networking site without using some caution. Make sure that you don't post any personally-identifiable information on those sites as that information CAN and HAS been used against people to stalk and harm them. I have a myspace account myself and I only rarely use it.

A lot of scammers use profiles on My Space and are able to contact your daughter. They will use her pics as part of their scams. (I know it happened to me) Most of these are based in Nigeria and Ghana. Yahoo have a group dedicated to helping people with these particular scams. Your daughter is 11 years old ..you have the control and should take it. She is not old enough to understand the ramifications ..you are.

It can be dangerous and being as young as she is, she should stop. When she turns thirteen and no longer has to lie about her age then she can have a myspace, but until then, it's actually illegal. And people prey on children on myspace.

she should follow the rules and wait untill shes at least 14. At that time she should be able to know what to put on there and what not to put on there.

Let's see...you're the adult and your daughter doesn't listen to you. Sounds like you need to put your foot down and be the adult.

If she is disobeying you at the age of 11, imagine when she gets older.
