Totally different things.

A motherboard is nothing more than circuits and chips; you can't do much with it unless you have a processor.

A processor is nothing more than circuits and silicone wafers; it can not work without a motherboard.

Motherboards are manufactured to fit specific types of processors, which is probably why you are seing a processor name on them.

They are not the same. In easy way, the processor is your brain and the motherboard is your whole body. Without the processor, the motherboard can do nothing.

they are 2 different components. the processor is typically going to be either an AMD or Pentium and is a chip that is attatched to the board and does all of your processing. the motherboard, or mobo, is the central nervous system of your computer, it is what brings everything together and makes it all work to produce the desired effect.

Totally different. the mother board is what the processor sits on. It provides power to everything and is also the conduit for all the processor output

Technically they are not the same thing, although that if you want to replace your processor you need to replace the complete motherboard.
