Stuff you download on p2p programs are not always what you expect. Do a sanity check....if you're trying to download a movie and the file size is less than 1mb you're probably downloading some type of spyware.

If that is not the case, you're probably just missing the codec. Another possibility is that some movies are encoded with mp4 as an extension. If that's the extension. try using iTunes to watch it, since Windows Media Player won't play those types of videos normally.

Try opening library in ares then select movie you wish to view right click and select locate file.Right click again and and you should get different options you can view it with.If the file is too large download WinRar and compress the file b4 doing this.

You probably need a codec, most likely divx that can play mpeg videos.
