just speak to PEOPLE. talk to PEOPLE. get to know PEOPLE.
you will learn so much more from interacting with those you wish to know about.

Second question first...I think people will continue to meet, mix and marry in greater numbers. It's been on the rise for the past 50 years. Even without increased intermarrying, I think people are more likely now to meet socially with people who are very different from themselves (ethnicity, race, religion, etc). This has helped to cut through the ignorance and fear. We are moe apt to see one another as PEOPLE not just a member of some "other" race.
As for learning more about cultural groups, I'd say get out there and mingle. Don't be afraid to attend cultural events, read a variety of literature, and get to know people who have backgrounds different from your own.
