You are half white and half spanish. Are you incapable of multi-tasking?

White (Caucasian) is a race, while Panamanian is a nationality. These are not the same, rather it's like comparing an apple to where it grew. I think a person of Panamanian nationality could be white, black, or Indian (i.e. native); or even of Asian ancestry. So, let's pick one and suppose that the Panamanian in question is Native American or Indian. You would therefore be half white and half Indian, which could be called "mestizo". (I think Central American Spanish has words for several of these situations.)

Actually we're in the 21st century now, and more and more people are marrying without regard to race, so more and more children are being born who are mixed in one way or another. This will disappear as an issue.

Well, I have 4 half breed children. I'm German and my spouse is Mexican.

OK then my children are considered underdogs, half breeds, etc.
Two are blond, two have black hair.

Now, let's have some fun of those that consider my children half breeds! Catch them someday on another subject. Say genealogy, or better yet get them to brag about what kind of blood they have. Example you said your dad is Irish American. So what did the American have in it? Your dad so far is half breed! Hey I'm not being insensitive here! Just making a point! If you were to check out his genealogy back a few families you would probably find another breed in there.

My point is the United States is a mixing pot.

I have never seen an application that said anything other than white, black, native American, etc. Never did see half breed! So go with the flow and be what you are. Plus you usually go with your surname.

Just what you told us, that your mother is Panamanian and your father Irish. Or mestiza.

How do you identify yourself, that's what really matters in the end. Which ethnicity/heritage do you most relate?

Your race is determined by what your father is. Ergo you are Irish, but with panamanian background.

Maybe you a "Refried Cracker".
I guess you Spanish American. I am white but we have had people of many races in our family. I know my mom had a cousin and he was Spanish or that how he looked.

You're "whitish"? I don't know...I'm just joking. :) My brother is marrying a hispanic girl and I wonder what their children will be called. It really doesn't matter. We are all the same inside. Just the covering is a little different.

i have a friend that is pale-ish (not sickly like, but i mean sometimes people think that they are white) but they are Mexican. They never say that they are white, because they aren't. That makes perfect sense! Just say youre half Spanish and half white, because you are! =] keep smilin'
