I also picture the cover of Concrete Blonde's "Bloodletting", one white rose in the middle of a bouquet of red roses... drops of blood on the white petals...

I think of a wedding where the church is filled with beautiful, white roses. It stands to reason that since white roses signify purity and reverence, what better place to have them than at the altar where a handsome groom stands beside his beautiful bride.
