NO l won't bash you either, even though perhaps a little slap wouldn't go astray. There is good and bad in all of us, male and female. I personally have never been a very materialistic person. Have never ever cared about getting something because someone else had it. I like you believe more in love and happiness and NO it can not be bought. I don't think that a lot of men or women are made like they used to be, everyone is too quick to brush one relationship aside and start another. People need to put more effort into the relationships they are in and perhaps it would stop all the cheating, lying and the high divorce rate. Best of luck to you, l wish you well.

Bashing isn't even necessary. Your theory is flawed. Everyone want's more than they have, not many of us are satisfied with what we have, man or woman. Happiness isn't a commodity, it's a pursuit. Read the consitution my friend. Never the less in terms of the material desires are you content with what you are able to provide to yourself or some one else? Love, money, family, etc...can be increased but the value is limitless. Before you descriminate against the values of women delve into why you feel so compelled to offer up as a basis to your theory. A expensive car, vacations, nannies...bashing isn't required, reality is.

You can't generalize like that. I know lots of people who are materialistic. Heck, I think we can all agree it's nice to have some shiny new things every once in awhile. There's nothing wrong with a new car. Love, and consequentially happiness is based not on how much one possesses, but on how much one is willing to sacrifice. If you are truly willing to sacrifice your life for someone, only then can you be truly satisfied by simply being in their presence. I'm in love, and considering asking my girlfriend of two years to marry me...we wouldn't need a 5 carat ring and a house to be happy. Just each other, and a roof over our heads.
God Bless.

i'm not going to bash you because that's your opinion. what i am going to say is that you have women out there who don't care if you have a geo metro for a car and a 1bedroom apt. and if they really love you they will help you to be better, so you both can enjoy that bmw, or corvette. yes there are some gold diggers out there and some hoes, but if your wife deeply in her heart loves you, then the grass on the other side is just crab grass to her. and you and her got the greenest, most flower blooming yard every. "if you get my drift"

Ouch! Sounds like some woman did you in. I won't bash you either. I think there are most definitely some woman out there that are like that. The sad thing is looks like one of them may have tarnished your view of the rest of us. Like someone else already pointed out....good ones do exist...we're just harder to find now a days :) Good luck with your search!

you poor poor thing. too bad that you don't know all women. you must have had a bad expierence in being with a woman that wants to have it all but can't seem to get it all. no matter what the man tries to do it is never enough. fortunately all women are not like this. but you will never know that with that extremely narrow and small mind of yours. that's ok. one less creep that we have to deal with.
by the way...thanks for the two points.

you've obviously run into the bad group of women. now, listen. just because one woman in the world (or a few) acts like this, DOES NOT mean all of them are that way. i can honestly tell you that i am not materialistic as these women are that you are refering to. some women, as well as men, love to be spoiled as well as show themselves to the world. in my personal opinion, if you work hard - and i mean work hard with no helping hands to get where you are in life - the more power to you. if money is handed down from one family member to the next and they don't do **** in their lives, they are making themselves look needy, materialistic, superficial and a bad representation as a person.
you are right, happiness cannot be bought. love cannot be bought. if you want something, you work at getting it and that means you put 120% effort into it.
you know what's funny? i have a 1996 toyota corolla. i took it in to a local carwash at cobblestone and there were all these fancy looking cars coming out. the attendants were cleaning and drying them off with care. in the midst of these nice cars was mine - a red, paint chipped as well as faded color on the top. i didn't feel embarassed. granted, the other cars are nice, but my car has meaning to me. it was my grandmother's car and was, yes it sounds odd, given to me a month before her death. the funny thing was were the looks i got as the attendant called out for the owner of the car. these people took one look at me (and oh boy, the women there were looking me up and down in discust) and smirked. but i smiled because i was proud. i was proud because i didn't need daddy's money to help get a vehicle (as weird as it sounds, a death was rather odd) much less a rich husband. it was one thing to have people look at me as though i was scum, but another when they looked at my husband for a moment in much the same way. they can look at my material items and smirk all they want, but one smirk they give to my husband, i begin to get pissed.
yes, i'm getting off point here, but i'll make it quick. my car has a military sticker on it. my husband is in the army. it is amazing how people react when a man in uniform steps up to them and gives them that same smirk.
it doesn't matter what material possessions you have. they do not make you. attitude does, but if it is true and just. my husband and i are proud. we don't have to have bmw's, corvettes or a huge mansion to show class. we have something deeper. i have my husband. my husband has his military experience. that, people, is true class when you shove the same **** into people's faces when they try to have an attitude with you - especially when you are defending these idiots on the battlefield.

i think that is also applicable for men. In case you forgot, why would you want something to you already have. Question does make sense but what doesnt is that it should have been. Women are not contented.
