Just reading through this article which epitomizes legal system bias in sentencing of women:
MOTHER ACQUITTED OF MURDER IN DEATH OF CHILDREN
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16546723/
Reminded me of:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/tyne/6076112.stm
A mother who started a fire in which her four-month-old son died has been spared jail.
[ Depressed? No problem! BURN YOUR KIDS TO DEATH and get off. ]
and:
RALLYING AROUND A BABY KILLER
http://www.ifeminists.com/introduction/editorials/2001/0828.html
ANDREA YATES, NOW, AND FEMINIST JURISPRUDENCE
http://www.ifeminists.com/introduction/editorials/2002/0226.html
"At NOW's 2001 national conference last summer, then-President Patricia Ireland declared that Yate revealed America as a "patriarchal society" where "women are imprisoned at home with their children.""
Gee who would have thought feminists blame post-womb abortions on men.
Shouldn't we err make post-womb abortions illegal so they don't do it?

Post womb abortions = infanticide.
A quick review of infanticide cases and their punishment will reveal that men are sent to jail for life, women get significantly less and in many cases, no jail time at all. As one of the articles showed.

lmao! The answers you get...
I think Guinea was the only one to understand that a "post womb abortion" is just a euphemism for plain old murder.
I agree with her on most points.
I wouldn't blame it on the feminists. Anyone invoques mental illness in court whenever they get the change. Especially in murder cases. And some people actually get away with it.
Like the people you named in your examples.
Simple comme bonjour.

Nobody is trying to make it legal. What they are focusing on is the lengths of post pardum depression. Ive never been pregnant, so I cant comment on what that is like. I dont think people should be able to use that as an excuse, but some people literally go nuts.

Sounds more like multiple counts of murder and maybe an insanity defense..I
Yates is serving time No?
Feminists may voice oponions, the state the person lives in creates the law. that seems to be changed in the jurisdiction this crime was committed in..
Sounds like your anger is misplaced.......help change the laws, thats all you can do..

Legalising post-womb abortons? Don't be so overdramatic.
I believe feminists are just trying to make people aware that mental illness is a serious matter and no it is not an excuse for such a horrific act, but when someone is genuinely mentally unwell, it needs to be taken into account. It is all too easy to say these women were evil, but it is not always as simple as that. All feminists are doing is trying to bring awareness into society, which may even save lives in the future if post pregnancy women recognise these signs in themselves.
HTH : )

I agree that Patricia Ireland's comments are inappropriate.
However, I also think your comment about depression is also.
The difference between a Susan Smith and an Andrea Yates seems glaringly obvious to me. One wanted to get rid of her childrenl. Period. Insane, sure, but nonetheless, that was "rational" premeditated murder. Andrea Yates did not need to homeschool her children, but she was devoted enough to do so. She had a known history of "post partum depression" severe enough to veer into psychosis.
I suppose it is possible that men have been in that same mental state and killed their children, and I don't know what the statistics are on convictions, but I think they generally kill their entire family, and then themselves...
Never heard of post-womb abortion...??

You know, I never understood why there are men out there who hate feminism and feminists considering that most things that benefit feminists also benefit men. Now, extremists always get the most publicity and maybe it's just because you are ignorant, but you really need to calm down. Feminism is not a war against men and you might actually find that feminists protect men's rights just as much as women's. Don't be such a tool.

Maybe because we are 6 billion on this planet and growing ? Feminism is doing and will do a great job to limit the birth rate where it is in effect. Thats why we need to "liberate" Muslim women. If they keep having 5-10 babies parts of the arabic world will become the new Africa or the new Russia right before and during the Stalin era.

Sorry, but I lost the plot somewhere shortly after You said "POST-WOMB ABORTIONS". Are You trying to suggest that there exists some sort of "Post Natal Birth Control"? Where have I missed the point You are trying to make? Have You been reading between the lines, or did I miss something? Please don't hesitate to get back to me on this.

Get a clue, an inflamatory, EXTREMELY incorrect phrase is such as "post womb abortion" is wrong, it's actually murder. I assume you just crawled out from under your rock?
As for murder, it's ridiculous and ppl should go to jail forever (at least), but until our society is perfect justice is not blind. If you had been paying as much attention as you say, you would have noticed that.
