I would have to say the island of Dominica*not to be confused with the Dominican Republic
Reasons are:
1.It was rated as the fourth most peaceful place in the world
2.Most of the hotels provide baby sitting facilities
3.A lot of the activities make provision for kids
4.Very peaceful uncorrupted place compared to the rest-the island doesn't even have a casino
5.Healthy place for family vacation because most of the activities are fun filled and good family experience such as
....*snorkelling/scuba diving(rated as 2nd best by readers choice magazine 2007 in atlantic)
.....*horsebackriding or atv riding in the forest trails-been there (two thumbs up)
.....*spending a day at the nature adventure park
......*hiking-there are diferent grades of hiking from very easy to very strenous and difficult.so u could choose before hand
.....*Just sight-seeing on tours most of which will be available by your hotels guesthouses etc.
....*Real family thing to do is go whale/dolphin watching-we are branded as the "Whale Wathcing Capital Of The Caribbean"
......*the island of Dominica is a real good experience beacasue it shows ur kids that the caribbean is not only filled with Tacky Sun Sand and Sea vacation but rather with eco/nature friendly ones like that here in Dominica.Websites below will provide you with accamodation and a list of things to do and also fabolous one-of- a-kind sites such as the second largest boiling lake and the only one found in the western hemipshere..

okay well every caribbean island i have been too is good family vacations.
Puerto Rico, Bahamas, US Virgin Islans, Jamaica (depends how old your youngest is because more older kid stuff here like hikes and jeep stuff going through various part of jamaica).
i think Puerto Rico if you have smaller kids because flight isn't too bad depending on where you live and no customs (which is always nice...those lines can be killer).

Not Jamaica!!! Also, steer clear of European Carribbean islands, unless you want clothing optional beaches. But most Americans looking for a family vacation find it awkward. I've been to the Cayman's a couple of times and would recommend them. Swimming with Sting Rays on Grand Cayman is worth the cost of the flight alone!
