I bought a motorcycle that had 22,000 miles on it. The guy swore it only had 12,000 because it skipped "1" and went from 9999 to 20000. I puchased it as if it did have 22,000 miles but am wondering if anyone has ever heard of this happening.

Never heard of it. I suppose ANYthing is possible, but I would have been suspicious as well.

Its possible , I had a measuring wheel once that would do the same thing for every 100 feet you actually had 90/ Depends on what year it is /look at the same bikes in a bike trader magazine and compare the miles
