It all depends what you are going for. Bon is definitely the roots of AC/DC. I agree with other users that stated Bon gave them more soul. He lived the lifestyle they were singing about, and probably related much closer to the Young brothers. On the other hand, Brian does have a more aggressive voice that helped keep them strong through the years as rock got heavier. Hard as a Rock, Thunderstruck, and Back In Black are all great songs, mainly because of Brian's presence. But if you like the early stuff, it definitely sounds the way it does because of Bon's talent and unique sound. New or old, AC/DC has had a couple of great frontmen.

AC/DC were better with Bon Scott, their music had more soul, However thy made it big time with Back in Black the first Brian album, but apart from a couple of songs none of their Post B in B stuff has come close to their old stuff

Bon Scott was great while he was with the band, and the same goes for Brian Johnson. They both fit in perfect. Almost kind of like Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth with Van Halen.

Bon Scott brought in a sly twisted sense of humor to the lyrics that Brian just doesn't have. As far as just belting out songs, they are equal.

With Scott. Was a very honest, fresh addition to the band. Johnson did a good job at first also, then faded.
