Yes! I used to have a hard time with telling people I loved them, but now I say it often.
A simple, and casual "love ya" gets you on your way to being ok with it. It may take some you tell by surprise, but don't act embarrassed about it.

You should definitely express your feelings to your dad. Take the time to write him a nice card or letter telling him what you appreciate about him and what you have learned from him, and nice memories you have had with him. It is very important to do this. Our family members don't live forever, someday they will be gone. It will mean the world to your dad. My grandfather cried when I gave him a note like that. Do it! :)

When he was alive I told him all the time. I still do and I know he knows it. When we were little he would kiss us three times ans one day I asked him why three times and he said it meant I love you. I think everyone should tell their parents they love them every day. What would you do if something happened to them and you hadn't told them you loved them. You would feel real bad. Yeah! I used to kiss him too before I went to bed. His cigarette nearly set fire to my hairspray on my head as I did this.
He died in 1990. I was 15 at the time.
