Umm... Unique and template seem to contradict. Make your resume stand out by what is on it. Colored paper or a creative layout will only help you get a job as an art teacher. Perhaps you can find unique words that show off your skills and past job experience. For example: instead of listing just "cashier," put down what you did. You "accomodated customers needs by answering questions about and accepting payments for merchandise." If you were also in charge of inventory, note what you did for that. Under skills: You can list more than one word per skill, and make your description dynamic. No one wants to see a list that says "skills: writing, reading, simple math, and customer skills." Maybe a statement like this: "Aside from the basic skills of language and mathematics, I have acquired a great understanding of customer needs and the ability to meet their needs through past experience." Most of all, sound like yourself, and be ready to own up to anything on your resume. You may be asked directly about it, or they may observe through your response to other questions, whether or not you have those skills. Good luck!
Edit: If you just want a good template to follow, remember that more info is not always better. They don't want to know about your pet or your friend. Make sure you have your name, address and contact information at the top. It is a good idea to list your goals or objectives (career or relating to the position or a mixture of both) next, so they know what you want. Following that, a list of your education levels along with years and schools is a good idea. Next comes your past jobs. You may also want to add a line for outide achievements, such as involvement in an organization or charity. Remember to list your skills, and finally your references, or you a statement that they can be made availabl on contact. If you feel that other information about you would help you get the job, keep it brief and low-key.
