I Live in the North Hollywood Area (San Fernando Valley) in
Los Angeles....I remember when I could get a one bedroom apartment for as low as $450 per month, but those days seem to be long gone....Now in the same area I lived in 15 years ago I pay about $1,075.00 for a One Bedroom Apartment in the North Hollywood Arts District. I want to compare Los Angeles Rent Rates to different parts of the world...I just want to get an idea of what you pay, what CITY and State you live in, and tell me what the EMPLOYMENT prospects are for blue collar workers in your area PLEASE!

I live in Kansas and pay $500/month for a fairly nice apartment (except I have a question about the carpet needing to be replaced, which is why I came to this category to begin with). I think employment options are pretty good here. I'm a full-time student and have no problem paying rent. You don't really need to have a lot of education to get by, but if you do, there are plenty of employment opportunities.

Im from michigan and I was paying 500 a month for a crappy one bedroom. The employment? Ha! I've been looking for a good job for years. My friends all went out of state for colleges and jobs, or work in car plants or joined the military. The ones with plant jobs got them by having family members refer them. I'm in the thumb area. I don't know what you mean by blue collar but I'm an assistant manager and it takes two incomes to pay my current rent.

In Seattle you can get a 3 bdr for about $1,200 a month...maybe a little more. It is cheaper in the outlying areas.
