boot from windows cd. It is different from recognising in windows. When you put the cd in bay and restart, press any key to boot from cd (your bios should be set to boot from your cd), It boots from the installation disk
If you can manage that , then you can run a repair install

Motherboard may be bad. Try mouse & keyboard on another computer. computer must be off before you plug in the mouse & keyboard. Try a BIOS reset to put it to defaults.

Ur widows system seems work incorrectly,put Ur harddrive in another computer as a slave and format the system drive then put it on Ur PC and boot it up with the windows CD and then every thing will work fine.

that happens to me with my older computer, usually when i plug my headphones into it. its probably some electrical thing all you have to do is unplug it and plug it back in restart your computer and it will work
