Example - I asked for some scrapbooking company names who feature beach/tropical/cubian kits.... They told me to cut up magazines and paste them. How does that answer my question!?

Time. Some questions take time to answer or think about. Instead of spending the five minutes to really think about what the asker is questioning, they flip off a two point response.

Check out these websites: These are specific to what you were asking for. Good luck!

These are people that are only answering to get points and are not truly giving you advise. I don't know a lot about scrapbooking, but I did put together award winning high school yearbooks for 15 years. There are many wonderful scrapbooking stores in my area. I am sure you can find some online as well.

Well, maybe they meant for you to find pictures of beach tropical things in the magazines and use those instead of buying an expensive kit. Anytime you ask a question on here, no matter how serious, expect some stupid answers. There is always some one who thinks they are funny. (It's usually me! LOL)

I don't know sometimes with the answers I get I can tell all the answerer read was the bold intro into the question. They are just after points I guess. I can't help you with the scrapbooking cause I've never made one but good luck to ya.

Mere literacy may not adequately help understanding a person's 'communication' !
Experience (of at least either person) could help to a large extent, though not entirely indispensable.
Evolvement does matter (again of either person).
And hence the 'mismatch' !
For the same reason, many a times, better answers do not get chosen as the 'best' , which equally surprises the answerers !

It sounds like you worded your question well, but maybe responders did not read well.

Often folks respond without thinking through the question and their answer.

Maybe folks are too concerned with earning points, than giving info.

I wish I could help, but I don't know scrapbooking very well.

When asking for something be specific. Number your questions from 1 through 10 and don't waffle. Do your own research and Wikipedia is the best place to start.

I just looked up your question and the answers. The answers were very kind and helpful. Perhaps you are expecting too much from the answerers. And it's not appropriate to be critical of those who try to help.

Perhaps you need to do your own research - the web has so much info that you can tap into yourself.
