We aren't. We are pro human rights but anti illegals. It's another case of both parties wanting the same thing but just seeing different roads to get there. Both sides want illegal immigration to stop. There's no way to keep track of who's here (dangerous) and they don't pay taxes into the system that funds things we all use (financially destructive).

There are to solutions to this problem. One side says "well, let's stop them from getting in, period". So we build walls along the border, send down militias with guns, and get rid of the ones that manage to get through. Problem solved, no illegals anymore.

The other side says, well they want to work, they want to be here, lets make them do so legally. So we have them immigrate legally, give them identification, tax them and let them go on their merry American way. Again, problem solved. No more illegals, just a lot more hard working American citizens.

So both ways work, neither one is "evil" or "unpatriotic". It just depends if you want an increase in citizens or not, and if you want a more diverse country or not. Neither the liberals or the conservatives are right or wrong, good or evil, 100% of the time.

I don't think anybody should break our laws. I do think some laws need to be changed. The immigration process is VERY badly broken. Somebody that WANTS to live here, WANTS to become a citizen and WANTS to work I have no problem with. But our government must, because it takes a mountain of bureaucracy, red tape, and waiting to come here legally IF you are even allowed to. I also believe immigrants do not "steal" jobs, for someone who has a skill at doing something (and unlike most Americans I believe washing dishes, babysitting kids and gardening ARE skills) there will always be someone who needs it done. And the "paying taxes" has always been a self-serving argument. They WANT to pay taxes (at least as much as we all do.....) but how can you file if you are not legal?

And don't get me wrong here.....I heartily agree on 2 points, commit a crime (other than being here and working hard), out you go. And Mexico should be doing more to help it's people, the answer is NOT to send everyone here.

Are you NUTS?!? (or just a troll)

Republicans support illegal immigration because they want cheap (slave) labor.

Republicans oppose unions - same reason as above.

Younger people want afternoon and summer jobs? Which younger people - they want to play video games - not work.

Illegal's don't pay taxes? LIE. They DO pay taxes - and don't file returns so the government keeps the money withheld from their paychecks.

"Libs like people not paying taxes"? We don't tax the right people ENOUGH.

By the way - last year, the average amount paid by illegal aliens into Social Security alone is over 50 BILLION dollars per YEAR. That is money that they will never collect and will be paid to US in our retirement.

The average illegal alien, with children, will put 80,000 dollars MORE into public funds (taxes and such) in his or her lifetime than he or she will use in public services (health care, public schools).

They, at least the rich ones, are pro-illegal for the same reason the rich Republicans are; they can pay them at less than minimum wage, under the table, and if they say a word, fire them and get them deported because they "just found out" they were illegal. There are more illegals than cockroaches in this country. The rich punks will be able to get more quickly enough.

as a moderate liberal (if there is such a thing) i am completely against it. Read my questions and answers. It is the new blight of America. For the illegals I am NOT racist. I just think that if you go to a country to start a new life you do it LEGALLY, LEARN the language (that means realizing your home language won't work here), and TRY to learn the culture. If we wre in you country we would have to. Why are you so special?

I am liberal and I definetly no pro-illegal. The way I see it the only people benefitting from the illegals are home builders, landscapers and the ilk. As far as I am concerned, instead of profitting from the lower wages they should be ones paying for their health care and schooling their children not me.

actually, it goes back to when kruschev was pounding his shoe on the desk at the UN...he said he would bury us, and he started doing it by infiltrating our education system with the liberal crap that is being taught now...after they educated all these libs, then the real agenda started...downsizing the military, opening the borders and relaxing the laws on illegals, letting jobs go to other countries, not having a forward looking energy policy...now all this is starting to combine to put enormous stress on our society...we have a ruling elite class(never mind wether they are conservative or liberal, thay are just in it to get reelected and amass a power base then retire from gov't and lobby for the industries they made laws for and against), and we have a working class that is taxed to death and pressured by illegals trying to take the same job for less pay...which works in the favor of those supporting the elite...its almost time for another revolution....

Because most liberals are so called minorities and being so condemn any movement that is based upon law. By their mear definitions they believe laws are made to be broken. Most of them do not pay taxes. They have low paying jobs and a bunch of kids. Any taxes that they do pay comes back to them in the form of a tax return. They are under the misinformation that illegal aliens are not "hurting" anything. Little do they realize that when the government finally becomes bankrupt and cannot operate their free ride will be over.

I am a Democrat ..instead of a fence I would like to see the company's that higher them face stiffer fines and jail sentences for their H.R. managers.
You do know that the major source for employment of the Illegal Aliens are the beef, pork, and Poultry industries, which are huge Republican donors...therein lies your complaint.
