Cmon people soccer players play to cry and whine like little babies. I watched an italian dude cry after he slipped over a ball wo whooo painful. Then i saw Chris Clark of the capitals get hit in the mouth by a ice hockey puck and he got up pretty fast and demanded that he be allowed to play. Note that pucks travel much faster than soccer balls and they are much harder too. Now to the point LA Galaxy signed this guy cause he sucked on Tom Cruises Ding Dong not cause his talent in soccer. They signed him because of his Hollywoodness not of his talent in soccer.

all in all u have a point...but personally i think the italians tend to "act up" on soccer anyway. and David beckham has GREAT SKILL in soccer. only an idiot would say other wise. he has not benn GIVEN the chane at real madrid 2 shine...but when he hits the field with Landon Donovan and co it will deffinetly be a show. soo...sure he might have been chossen cuz of his fame..but buddy...u r basing this on ONE time...u best get better facts befor u challange the soccer world again...and u r lucky u dont live in england..or else u would have a BIGGER problem

I will address some of your rambling one ramble at a time.
Ramble1) Soccer players are babies. Ice Hockey players are "real men".
Answer 1) All team players play to win - some sports use some tactices other use other. Ramming an oponent into a glass wall in unfortunately open to soccer players so they get their edge other ways.
An aside, rugby players are what ? They play a hard contact sport without the padding that ice hockey player use (or for that matter field hockey players)
Ramble 2) Becks was hired for things other than talent.
Answer 2 ) Agreed. Sport is a business. Teams make money out of sponsorship and tickets sold. How do professional Ice hockey players get paid - they could not survive on money from the tooth fairy for their teeth being knocked out by flying pucks to the mouth :-) I am sure that ice hockey teams factor into salaried how much extra money (tickets for shirts etc) they will make with a particular player before they decide how much to pay him.

the point of signing him was 2 get as many people as possible to watch the games
they do that by getting attractive players
also good players (btw hes pritty good (not just pritty)
