Without being "beaten"?
Theoretically any public place. You may not be popular, and you may get some stares and comments, but someone "beating" you is assault regardless of what you are wearing. So as long as you are not in some dark alley away from the safety of crowds, no one is going to beat you up unless they are really itching for some jail time.
If you want acceptance, try to stay in more open and progressive areas. Cities, especially near the coasts and in traditionally "blue" states are perfect examples. But who knows, you can find acceptance and hospitality anywhere.
