Besides the 400K per yr, a president gets all his expenses paid. It's not the money, it's the power.

That's why I've often wondered why anyone would want that job. $400k/year? For most of those guys, that is a huge pay cut. In addition to that, they have to move to a bad neighborhood. Sure the White House is nice and the Secret Service is cool, but would you want to have every move and decision you make criticized for the rest of your life? And then when you die, everyone will recall what a great person you were.
