However you do on your test tommorow just imagine a friend or relative that really needs CPR lying on the ground before you. It is well worth your while to remember it properly.

That being said. If you see an unconcious victim you want to immediately call 911 or have someone do it for you. For adults you want to check for responsiveness first verbally, and then by giving them a sternal rub, which is done by rubbing your knuckles lengthwise over their sternum.

If they are unresponsive you want to go through ABC, airway breathing and circulation. First open their airway. This is done with a head tilt chin lift for patients not involving trauma (i.e. somone who had a heart attack) and with a jaw thrust for patients who have experienced trama (i.e somone involved in a motor vehicle accident). For a head tilt chin life you place one hand on the patients forhead and two fingers of the other hand on the patients chin. You titl their head back until the neck is straight. For a jaw thrust you position yourself behind the patient, keep you forarms along his head to stabilize it and then grasp his jawbone with your fingers below his jaw and your thumbs on his chin. Push the chin forward to open his mouth. Remember that it is very important to keep the head neck of a trauma victim as still as possible to avoid further spinal injury.

After opening his airway deliver two breaths into his mouth. This is done by placing your mouth over his and breathing deeply into his mouth while pinching his nostrils. Each breath should last about one second. The chest should rise with each breath given.

After delivering two breaths you deliver chest compressions. This is done by following the curvature of the bottom ribs up to the sternum, placing one hand on the sternum palm down with the other hand over it. It is vitally important that your hand actually be on the sternum, and not below it or it will stap off a small peice of bone on the sternum and possible kill him. When you compress down on the chest for the average male that will be two to three inches. Remember that you are actually trying to push down on this persons heart! This will break a few ribs, but will also save a life. Deliver 15 chest compressions for full grown adults.

After delivering 15 chest compressions you start your second set by delivering two breaths. A set is considered two breaths and 15 chest compressions. Each set should take you about fifteen seconds. This means that the chest compressions are done fast.

After delivering four sets, each consisting of two breaths and fifteen chest compressions you need to check his vital signs again. Remember, airway, breathing and circulation. It is vitally important that you continue CPR until someone more qualified than yourself (EMTs, a doctor) arrive. CPR is physically exhausting, so this will be difficult.

Again, it is well worth your time to actually learn CPR through a qualified instructor.

The preceding information does not constitute actually CPR instruction. Nor does it constitute actual medical advice nor is it guarenteed to be accurate and without omissions.

From beginning to end. First see if the patient responds talk to them, gently shake them. If no response, feel for a pulse at the carotid artery (on the neck by the throat). If no pulse have some one call 911 or do it yourself. Next tilt the head back to open the airway, check for foreign objects that could possibly block the airway, food, denture's, etc. with head tilted back pinch nose shut, and give 2 breaths. give first breath and watch for the chest to rise. If the stomach rises, reposition head to make sure airway is open. wait for chest to "fall" and give second breath. now to compressions. from the xyphoid process (the bone at the end of the sternum) you can feel it just follow the ribs up to where they "meet" that's the xyphoid process. anyway from there put go 2 finger widths up the sternum, then place the heel of your hand on the spot. This spot should be very close to being between the nipples. Place your other hand on the back of the hand that is on the patient. interlock your fingers (remember to keep your fingers raised so you are just pushing with the heel of your hand). Then you push STRAIGHT down, at least an inch. do 15 compressions. after 15 repeat 2 breaths, and then repeat the 15 compressions. do this for 4 cycles which should take approx 1 minute. after 4 cycles check for pulse again. if no pulse repeat 4 more cycles and do it all again. if you do feel a pulse roll patient on their side (in case of vomiting) if there are no injuries present.
Just remember 15 & 2 for one man cpr. and 5 & 2 for 2 man cpr.
for a baby it's 5 & 2 for even 1 man and you use 2 fingers to do your compressions with. if you use your whole hand you could hurt the baby badly. and for a child use one hand to do compresssions. This is alot of typing so I hope I get the 10 pts. If you have any questions you should be able to email my back by clicking on my avatar.

a million. Al Bundy became correct! If we opt for you to attraction to close what we are questioning, we will be talking. 2. No guy can lie and answer this question with a immediately face. If he can not say he loves you, he would not! 3. in case you at the instantaneous are not searching for a controversy, then you truly would attempt to circumvent asking loaded questions like; "Do those denims make me seem fat?", because there's no ideal RESPONCE for this question. the options are; "sure, those denims make you seem fat.", or "NO, the denims have not something to do with how fat you seem." Why do you insist on asking inquiries to that you do not opt for to receive an answer? in case you won't be able to seem in a reflect and see once you're fat or not, get some frickin' glasses. 4. Any guy with a gram of gray be counted would answer this question "NO!" If he says in the different case, do not undergo his little ones for they are going to be severly retarded. 5. What i'd do if my spouse died isn't conceivable to respond to because no you'll really see the destiny and hypothesis is a sad excuse to %. an arguement over.

It has just been updated to 30 chest compressions for every two breaths. Rember to use head tilt chin lift to keep the airway open and check for the ABCs every minute.

I'm sorry that I don't know much on CPR...but, I do know this.

It involves lip to lip contact, and it goes something along the lines of:

1...(push chest)....2........(push chest).......3......(push chest).....(then you put you mouth in the person's mouth and blow air, like you're trying to blow up a paper bag.

Lather, rinse, and repeat, just like Shampoo!

I hope I helped!

As you are blowing, plug the nose, so no air escapes.
Also, If you do get any information from the web, make sure its on a good site, not like www. thissitesuxx.com (example only :D)
Like American heart association or something.

So when I do your homework for you.... and someone you love collapses in front of you... then, what? You call me? Do yourself a favor and study it for yourself. You might be the one that has to perform it, instead of standing around with your hands in your pockets like everyone else.

I really hope your test isn't a CPR test. That would be scary.
