I live in california so I have the typical, california accent I guess I could say. Nothing fancy about it. I know how to talk in a fake british accent. My question is, someone, say an actor, who has a real thick british/australian/ect accent, when they talk like I would... does it feel weird to them, or is it exactly the same as me talking with my fake british one?

Wow. Lame. Ha.

Well I'm from Irish decent, and I,of course grow up with a bit of an Irish broge.but being raised in the u.s. I lost it until I'm around the same accent, and then it come's right back....Actor Hugh Laurie in a interview ,said that (it was the hardest thing to do)......So yes I'm sure it is.

Faking an accent is faking an accent! Some accents are easier for some people than others. But a Texan faking a British accent probably feels no more fake than a Brit faking a Texan accent. Except that a Texas accent has the stereotype of being dumb ("The moment people hear me talk they want to deduct 20 IQ points." - Foxworthy) where as a British accent has the stereotype of being smart.

Hugh Laurie, the actor who plays "House, M.D." is British. When he is on the show he "adopts" an American "accent". It probably does feel a little weird, but in professional acting circles there are voice coaches, and that includes accent coaches. As to whether the individual actor finds it weird or not is determined by that particular actor.

It's the same both ways.

I remember a skit where Tracy Ullman played an American character. She did a great job with the accent but I could tell she was straining to keep it up for long. Small native pronunciations slip in from time to time.

no, their accent comes naturally to them... their are trained in that department. But if they are speaking with a new accent it would be as strange as it does for you..... complicated answer lol
