The rabbits in the pet store at my neighborhood are like $45 - $80 dollars (excluding the materials you'll need to buy for a bunny). I am not sure about other pet stores though. I am assuming that rabbits cost at least $30. My friend bought a rabbit for $35 at a pet store near her neighborhood.

You could search online for specific websites of pet stores near your location. The websites might inform the prices of the pets they're selling.

I hope this helps :)

I'd recommend not getting a rabbit from a pet store. The pet stores are way overpriced. Pet stores normally buy rabbits from people that go all over the place to get rabbits. Your rabbit could have came from almost anywhere and probably the person that sold the rabbit to the pet store didn't take care of the rabbit all that good and probably didn't have the rabbit all that long. Many of the rabbits at the store will be mixed breeds and if the rabbit is a purebred rabbit the pet store normally doesn't truly know what breed it is. I've had a number of people ask me questions about their Dwarf rabbit. Pet stores will often use the term dwarf to refer to any small rabbit. I've seen rabbits sold as a Dwarf when the rabbit was actually a Dutch. In the rabbit breeder community, Dwarf normally refers to a Netherland Dwarf or possibly a Dwarf Hotot.

Even if you do happen to get a purebred rabbit at the pet store it will most likely not have a pedigree.

I'd recommend going to a local American Rabbit Breeders Association rabbit show and picking up a rabbit at the show. You'll have a number of breeds to look at and choose from. The rabbits will be purebred rabbits. You'll have people that have raised them for a number of years that can provide you with a lot of good information on how to properly raise them. You'll have a pedigreed rabbit. AND you'll probably pay less than you would have if you'd have bought it at a pet store.

If you buy a rabbit at the rabbit show, be sure to ask the person you buy it off what rabbit feed they use and where any sellers of that rabbit feed might be around your area. It's normally good to feed your rabbit the same way as the person you got it off of and with the same feed.

Ditto.
Rabbits sold in pet stores are a rip off! You can get a purebred rabbit for a little as $5 from a breeder, without a pedigree. With a pedigree, maybe about $20. Depends on the breed, color, etc.
I'd go check out a local rabbit show where you should be able to find something. There are show listings on the ARBA site linked above.

Too much!

Try buying from a breeder. Most breeders offer cheap or even free pets. Also, you will know the breed, have a reputable source to turn to. You will also know the lineage of your rabbit.

Can a pet store tell you if that rabbit has cancer running in it's family? Nope.

I have had so many people call and ask why their pet store rabbit has a runny nose. And by the way, that is the hardest thing to cure in a rabbit.

Well thats depends on the type of rabbit your looking to purchase, such as breed, age or wether you'd like a male that has already been castrated. Older Rabbits are usually cheaper, under $30 you can even find some at $20. If your looking for a certain breed.... Dwarfs,Miniatures,Lops as well as Rex, Go for about $40. The Netherland Dwarf goes for about $55 and a Castrated male goes for about $70 - $75.

At my pet store we sell all rabbits for $40. Most often we have breeds not just "bunnies". Under $30, inquire as to their vet care. Above $50, I'd expect them fixed already. Or wearing a gold chain.

Well, a rare breed would be more. Like an angora.

It depends on where you live and what kind of bunny you are gonna get!! They range from 15 to 50 dollars. Try searching your local classifieds. Sometimes you can find one with the cage and all accesories for free or very cheap!!

At one pet store, they sell them for about $40 (SuperPets or Petland). At Petco, they cost about $100 because they are already fixed. Petsmart (or at least all of the ones I have been in) don't sell rabbits.
