I was a CNA for 9 years. That line of work is not for the weak.(physically or mentally). The class room work is not terribly difficult. Most of it is common sense. It's the clinical training that takes some getting used to. You handle, feces, urine, blood, vomit, mucus, and all the wonderful things that come with them. If your really lucky, you get beat up daily. That is usually when dealing with the demented. It can literally be back breaking. A lot of lifting and you are on your feet the whole time. Now days luckily, most facilities have power lifts to aid in transfers.

You also have to have a lot of patience and a kind heart. Taking care of someone for a long time then having to watch them decline and pass away can be hard. But if you really have the strength, it can be rewarding.

I don't know but you will have to excuse me as I'm taking this opportunity to leave my computer to take a dump as I have been keeping it in for one hour. Sorry I can't help but I really need to go very quickly. See Ya!
