I want to buy ram how do i check which one i need and I want 512 mb

You need DDR 400 or 333. I would recommend going ahead and getting 400. If you already have 333, the new RAM will automatically slow down to 333 speed, but if you currently have 400 and you add 333, it will slow the old RAM down, so I would get 400. you could save a few dollars by going with a cheap brand, but I recommend spending the extra few for quality.

PC3200 is a good ram, just be sure you are getting ddr1 not ddr2. I looked on eBay and i found Kingston 512MB for 15 bucks plus 5 shipping. That's an amazing price. This will make your computer run SO much better,
