Recently a Filipino couple who boarded a plane in Hong Kong were arrested for making a joke about a bomb in the plane. In fact there have been several incidents Filipinos were arrested and removed physically out of the plane for making such jokes. Are Filipinos in general carefree or are just plain prankters who does not care about other peoples feelings?

It's plain and simple foolishness. He thought he was in the Philippines or he thought he can go away with it in Hongkong. He thought it was a joke.
Yes, Filipinos are fond of making jokes, funny or otherwise. Filipinos make a joke on personalities, politicians especially .
They make a joke on people and laught at it with eyes wise open to drive home their conviction. Filipinos play jokes with laws they feel are too harsh or with a policy they think are inimical to their interests.
And sometimes, they go at great lenghts that without their knowing they are already making a fool of themselves.

Because many are so stupid that do not use their common sense.
1. It should not be an issue at all because, a true terrorist will not tell a stewardess that he is carrying a bomb - common sense.
2. Some politicians also love to tell jokes. GMA told she is not running for president, but she did. Mirriam Santiago-said she will jump out of the plane but she didnt. Why did the police did not arrest them for telling jokes that caused the 85 million people suffer
In short, most Filipinos are stupid that do not know how to separate a joke from truth. No offense, Pinoy din ako..

This is not confined to Filipinos alone. A lot of incidence of similar nature happened in the past on other parts of the world.

I agree with girl23's opinion. I have witnessed this same dumb behavior myself at a busy Philippine airport. However, in this case, the culprit was a very cocky white man, presumably American or Canadian, judging by his accent. Guess what? He was not arrested, after clearly and deliberately making a statement to the security officer that his carry-on bag contained a bomb. Hmmm..... oh well, you know how pinoys worship the white man.

this is law.if you joke about a bomb on a plane definely you will get arrest. airport policies.

they're just stupid. they've got a stupid sense of humor.
haven't they seen Meet the Parents where ben stiller just mentioned the word "bomb" on the plane and he got arrested.
