Before spending the money making it faster, try taking it to a track event with your local BMW club! Then see if you really want faster to be a) better handling, b) better brakes, or c) really, more power.

The S54 engine is so well tuned that it's really hard to add a lot of noticable power. Frankly, if straight-line grunt is what you're after, you want lots of torque... and I'd then just say ditch the E46 M3 and get a used E39 M5.

But, if you really want a little more power, I'd suggest a free-flow exhaust (Dinan makes one, as noted earlier, that is excellent) and a software upgrade, either from Jim Conforti or Dinan.

In the end, for "overall speed," you'll find that the brakes are the weakest link in this car. The engine is already awesome.

Try using sources on the internet. There are plenty of websites that are free. I am not sure how old you are, but if you are still in high school, try arranging sessions with your Spanish teacher so you can learn to speak in a more advanced level. If you are out of high school, try taking college courses. You can enroll and take one class at a time. A lot of colleges dont have required prerequisits so you can take a higher level than starting at the first. Also, join some chat groups or Yahoo groups that speak only in spanish. Or like someone else suggested, go work for a fast food restaurant. Just kidding. If you have a Chipotle ( which by the way is owned by McDonald's) near you, you could apply and work part time. Everyone there is either of Spanish decent or speaks Spanish.

I bought a 04 with smg last wed. I can't see wanting to make it faster? The only thing that I am not happy with is the exaust note. I have been on the DINAN website and purchased a free flow exaust through them. Not cheap though. I love this car, why do you want more power? Do you want to beat every little rice racer in your area?

Get a custom header made for it at an exhaust shop. I don't know if they can make 6 cylinder header or if they have to make two separate 3-cylinder units. And it does not have to be chrome. Just let them make it out of standard exhaust pipe. Secondly have them run dual exhaust all the way out to the back of the car.

There's always a K&N filter kit and a power chip or a programmer is probably available. The air filter is the cheapest way and the programmer's usually run about $400.
