Depends on the type of paint you use. I think water based paints are safe.

Yes, as long as it isn't a primer like Killz or something like that. Read the cans...they will have warnings.

I painted all throughout my pregnancy and had no problems. I just stayed away from Killz (and the like) and any paint thinners and mineral spirits...they are very harmful.

It's not good for you, and also the baby!
most paint on the market will release some kind of smell that is harmful to the human body. hmmm, let's say you have your whole room repaint, try sleep in other room for a few weeks and let the "painted" room to "vaporate" the smell first.

If you are well past your first trimester, painting is okay as long as it's done in a well ventilated area and you take precautions to not slip and fall. If you need to paint high walls or ceiling, use a telescoping roller instead of climbing a ladder, or have someone else do it for you.

I wouldn't do it. Especially in the winter when your windows would be closed. I'm thinking that you probably want to take part in the decorating of your bundle of joy but pick the color, find a man that is efficient and wait for it to dry. After wards you can tell him where to hang the pictures and move the furniture.

Congrates on the new baby.

Its certainly not advisable with any kind of paint, but A DEFINITE NO with oil based paint. Also, If you have to scrape/sand, you probably don't want to be involved with that at all.

I'm not sure how dangerous acrylic paint would be.

There are paints on the market now, that are safe to use when pregnant. However..you are pregnant, let someone else do it.

The fumes might not be good for the baby, but i guess if you don't paint for very long periods of time you should be fine.

No, it is not for a couple of reasons: the chemicals in the paint, and also being on a ladder.

make the father of the baby do it, I did! :)

Depends on the type of paint you use, and by no means don't do any climbing or anything like that, you may fall.
