Stupidest "horror" movie EVER, not even worth the genre horror.
Basically it was 3 people (with two cameras) who wanted to explore the legend of the blair witch (i.e. where she came from, how she came to be, what she does with the people...) and basically the 3 get lost, get scared, one disappears, the other 2 find a house, GO IN TO THE HOUSE, and basically it leaves you with the last camera on the floor with an image of someone in the corner and you cant tell if they're alive or dead. BORING!
There's also a Blair Witch Poject 2, but i havent seen it

The movie is totally fiction. Those who didn't stay to see the ending credits were fooled. It was filmed like a documentary but was really a student film project. Previews & commercials for this film stated that... the movie camera was found a year after the young people disappeared in the woods in Maryland while looking into the legend of the Blair Witch (thus the name for the movie, The Blair Witch Project). First of all, film would not survive a year in the woods even in an abandoned house. Second, there was no Blair Witch.

The only thing frightening about the movie was that it IS possible for people not familiar with the great outdoors to get SO lost in the woods. It happens all the time and people die of exposure, even without a... witch.

I actually thought Blair Witch was pretty good, it's one of those movies you should see at least once in your life but wouldn't be so good to watch a second time because you already know what's going to happen and would pretty much ruin it. And because the actors were only given an idea about how things should go and improv the rest, it gave it a very real feel. Half of the time, the actors didn't know what was going to be happening. A lot of people ended up thinking it was real because of the documentary feel and it being somewhat based on the legend of the Bell Witch.

horrible movie, basically some college kids go hunting a mythical witch in Burketsville Md.

(bad plot line here. there is no Blair witch, and no haunting in the woods of Burketsville MD. i live 20 Minuit's from there, and i have been fishing off if the so called Coffin Rock.)

anyhow, they run into some strange supernatural force that somehow leads them around the woods for 3 days before killing them off one at a time, and the bodies were supposedly never found.

(you can not walk for 3 days in any direction in this area without finding a town or a farm somewhere.)

there were some spooky parts especially during the night scenes in the woods. but nothing that would make me afraid to go camping.

Now Blair Witch 2 the book of shadows, was done as a movie and they did not try to make it some college documentary. it was kind of creepy, and defiantly interesting to watch.

hope i did not babble too much.

Basics:
-some kids are doing a doc. on b witch
-they go into the woods videotaping urthing
-they get lost
-they fight and one guy somehow loses the map
-at night they hear noises after one guy runs off by himself (screams)
-the two left find some kind of bones and blood *human*
-they try to run but are lost, they find the river they crossed (more importantly the log they crossed) and the log vanished
-they try to find a way out and at night find an old house
-the retards go in it
-hear something, both of them go crazy looking for their friend
-the guy's voice silences, girl is left alone with the camera
-she goes downstairs(basement) and sees guys head facing the corner of the wall like one of the myths of the blair witch (she makes her victims stair blankly/silently into the wall until she kills them)
-you hear a scream, camera drops, urthings silent, you see the boy in the corner, movie ends, as credits roll says something in the news about missing teenagers and their car being found as well as a tape.

Not worth it, is all I have to say...
Anyway, if you really wanna know:
The whole movie is set to look like a documentary and someone found that tape, that's why so many people freaked out about it.
Three people try to find the Blair Witch, local legend; they go in the woods, get lost, find creepy wooden dolls hanging off the trees, hear strange things, one of them disappears, the other two find a house, they go in, it has bloody hand prints all over, they hear scream, they go down into the basement, all you see is that missing friend standing at the corner with his back turner, the camera falls on the ground, white noise white noise, the end.

supposed to be legend of this woman who has supernatural powers that stole a kid and brought her in the water and killed about 7 men in the wood, layed their dead bodies out and never appeared. some student allegedly went into those woods and she killed them all one by one. they had come there to do a documentary about the blair witch and the people in town warned them not to go into the woods..

first off you really didnt miss anything....here's the jist, 3 dumb college kids go in some haunted woods, without help from a pyschic or witch, and get killed by a ghost. the moral of this story kids: if you're going to go somewhere thats haunted, take someone with some knowledge who can defend you against spirits and demons.
