Okay, back late 2004 Cingular (and its parent companies) purchased AT&T Wireless (not AT&T). The company became known as Cingular wireless (as it currently stands). Just recently AT&T Corp. merged with Cingular's parent company (BellSouth). That merger gave AT&T Corp. control of both BellSouth and Cingular. AT&T has stated that in the near future (which means sometime in the next months), Cingular will be known as AT&T. Hope this helps.
